SAINT ADELAIDE OF BELLICH

Saint Adelaide entered the Ursuline Convent in Cologne. She became abbess in the Convent of Villich near Bonan which was founded by her parents and introduced the Rule of Saint Benedict. Saint Herbert, the archbishop of Cologne, appointed Saint Adelaide the abbess of Saint Mary's Convent. Adelaide did not give up her office in Villich, and continued to govern both religious communities. Died: February 5, 1015, Feastday: February 5.
